IFRP 2025 Workshop

The Idaho Forest Restoration Partnership is hosting a two-day conference in April titled “The Evolving Framework for Collaborative Restoration.” The event’s invited keynote speakers are two recent appointments in the Department of Agriculture. Kristin Sleeper will serve as the Deputy Under Secretary of Natural Resources and Environment. Tom Schultz was appointed as Chief of the U.S. Forest Service. Chief Schultz brings to the position his years of Idaho forest management experience in both public and private sectors (see agenda & bios below).
IFRP invites the public to join us at the Barber Park Education and Event Center as Schultz and other members of Forest Service leadership will talk about the agency’s priorities heading into the future and how those priorities will affect our grassroots mission to restore the resilience of Idaho’s forests.
The agenda will include speakers and panelists representing the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Idaho Department of Lands, and various public land collaboratives across the state. Our goal is to address key issues and provide insights on the future of wildfire management, restoration work, and the collaborative processes that are already succeeding in Idaho. The invitation list is still evolving and may be subject to change. A full list of speakers will be available at a later date.

Travel Assistance: A successful workshop, similar to an effective collaborative group, depends on broad representation from diverse interests. IFRP recognizes that travel costs can limit attendance. Our objective is to encourage participation by offering support to offset travel costs to Boise. If travel costs prevent your participation, please review the information in the Travel Assistance heading listed below, and submit an application for assistance.
Students: To request waiver of registration fee, see Travel Assistance/Student Waiver below.
Click on each of the topic headings below for details of the workshop.
Forest Service meeting participation will be limited due to a freeze on all non-emergency spending, including conference fees (March 2025). There are also stringent travel approval processes and all FS participants must be approved to attend. Prior to registering, Forest Service employees interested in attending should gain approval by their Forest Supervisor. For questions around attendance, please contact Allison Ginn.
Candidates for Travel Assistance Are:
- Active members of a forest collaborative group
- Without employer financial support to attend
- Willing and able to represent their collaborative group in all aspects of the workshop
Review of the Applications for Assistance
- Limited funds are available to partially cover costs to participate.
